How is the construction industry in the Sverdlovsk region?

The Sverdlovsk Region has achieved the target for the volume of housing construction set by the Housing and Urban Environment national project, and became one of the leading regions in terms of housing construction.

“Despite all the difficulties and the unfavorable epidemiological situation, 2020 was a successful year for the construction industry in the region in terms of the implementation of the Housing and Urban Environment national project. The volume of housing commissioning in 2020, according to preliminary data, amounted to 2.35 million square meters. This is exactly the goal that was set before us at the beginning of last year.” said the Minister of Construction and Infrastructure Development of the Sverdlovsk Region Mikhail Volkov during a round table dedicated to the implementation of the national project.

The Sverdlovsk Region ranks 1st in terms of housing commissioning among the regions of the Ural Federal District according to the results of 11 months and is included in the top 10 regions in terms of residential construction in Russia. From January to November, 1.75 million square meters of housing was commissioned in the Sverdlovsk region. This is 5% higher than the figures for the same period last year.


 

According to Sverdlovskstat data, 239 thousand square meters were commissioned in the Middle Urals in November. The share of new buildings in Yekaterinburg in the general statistics is 47%. For 11 months, 824 thousand square meters of housing were built in the capital of the Urals.

In second place is the Sysertsky urban district. Here, mainly due to individual developers, 121 thousand square meters have appeared this year. The third place in terms of the pace of construction was taken by the Beloyarsk urban district — 109 thousand square meters were commissioned here. The fourth place was taken by Verkhnyaya Pyshma — 87.5 thousand square meters. The fifth place in terms of housing commissioning is occupied by the Berezovsky urban district — almost 71 thousand square meters of housing have been built here.

“Thanks to the efforts of the Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region and the construction community, construction sites continued to operate throughout 2020, despite the difficult epidemiological situation. In November-December, most of the apartment buildings are traditionally commissioned, which can be up to 50% of what was commissioned in the previous months. Also, on New Year’s Eve, many individual developers register ownership of their houses” said Mikhail Volkov, Minister of Construction and Infrastructure Development.
